-First what is Blackmail and Extortion? And what are the difference between blackmail and extortion. Extortion is a form of of theft that occurs when an offender obtains money, property, services from another person through coercion. Blackmail, in contrast to extortion. Blackmail is when the offender threatens to reveal information about the victim or about his/her family members that potentially embarassing, socially damaging or incriminating unless a demad for money, property or services is met. They have little similar in concept but the truth is blackmail and extortion are different. So what is the crime in Blackmail and Extortion, the ctime is they are using the internet to threaten to cause damage with the intent to extort from any person, any money or other thing of value. The hackers are threatening the source that he/she will expose damaging or embarassing information in exchange for money. For me I don’t agree to this kind of crime but as we can see this kind of crime are currently manipulating a lot of people. It has a big impact to a person or victim. But as a victim, he/she should learn from his or her mistake and by that the victim can encourage other people not to put things especially personal information to the internet for our own safety, and we need to be sure to keep our anti-virus updated and don’t click any weird video in your email.
